Sandi Luck, Bully Brew Coffeehouse
Luck’s entrepreneurial journey began 18 years ago when she launched a modest coffee kiosk while serving as a professor of marketing and entrepreneurship at the University of North Dakota. Blending academic expertise with a core philosophy of "community over competition," she scaled her enterprise into a 100% woman-owned regional powerhouse.
Strategic growth was supported by leveraging critical professional networks and SBA resources, including SCORE, the WBC, and the SBDC. A pivotal milestone occurred in 2022 when Luck purchased a 27,000-square-foot warehouse to house her roasting operations and educational programs. This strategic expansion enabled the ND Coffee Roastery to secure over 120 wholesale accounts, including becoming the official coffee roaster for North Dakota State University.
Beyond running multiple retail locations across Fargo and Grand Forks, Luck remains deeply dedicated to mentoring the next generation of business owners. Through the ND Coffee School, she translates her classroom expertise into real-world success for aspiring coffeehouse operators and managers. By fostering a collaborative local ecosystem, Luck continues to support vital job creation and meaningful community engagement throughout North Dakota.
