Event description
The Small Business Compliance Toolbox series offers practical tools and essential knowledge to help your business stay compliant, reduce risk, and build a stronger, more successful workplace. The program will share compliance resources such as guides, digital tools, and other free resources.
Facilitated by subject matter experts from the U.S. Dept. of Labor, this webinar will cover wage and hour regulations for the restaurant and hospitality industry under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Topics will include hours worked, tipped employees, overtime, and youth employment rules, as well as an overview of frequent industry violations and best practices to help small business employers comply with federal wage and hour laws. In addition, OSHA will review the employer’s responsibility to provide a safe and healthy workplace to restaurant workers and available compliance assistance resources including OSHA's On-Site Consultation Program (confidential occupational safety and health services to small- and medium-sized businesses, with priority given to high-hazard worksites). On-Site Consultation services are separate from enforcement and do not result in penalties or citations. Available DOL Compliance Assistance resources will also be reviewed including OSHA's On-Site Consultation Program (confidential occupational safety and health services to small- and medium-sized businesses, with priority given to high-hazard worksites). On-Site Consultation services are separate from enforcement and do not result in penalties or citations.
